Opportunities / Risks

  • AR Comms content management system (CMS) was unable to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

  • No measurement tools, all data collection must be set up via a third-party tool.

  • Complex, manual process to integrate content across the website and adding or remove time-sensitive content.

  • Many school-specific alumni relations teams used the University’s CMS, making sharing content burdensome

Action & Results

Oversee RFQ Process

  • Since 2014, I built relationships with website managers across departments to learn about their CMS usage, needs, and wants.

  • Created a system to tracked ongoing issues and desired functionality, which documented more than 60 unresolvable issues. This document was the primary tool in developing the RFQ.

  • Oversaw the RFQ process and decided to join the University’s Digital Communication team’s CMS which met most needs.

  • Developed solutions for any gaps in new CMS functionality, including moving the alumni directory, alumni profile updates, and eLibrary resources onto NYU’s student, alumni, and staff portal.

Assure Content Meets WCAG

  • Audited, updated, and migrated more than 400 pages to new CMS, assuring WCAG compliance including proper use of heading, embeds, and alternative text.

  • Oversaw the captioning of more than 150 videos to be featured on the website.

Content Audit & Migration

  • Created detailed process documentation to assure all metadata was added correctly, improving integration throughout the website and the automation of removing and adding time-sensitive content.

  • Managed a team of three student workers and three full-time staff members to delegate content migration and assure timeline was met without duplicated efforts.
